4-17-06 STOMP!!!

Lesson:
Journal entry #3B:
What was the most interesting presentation you saw last week? What did that presenter do well? What were your greatest strengths in performing? What would you like to improve on? How will you go about improving? If you were absent last week, or did not have the opportunity to perform due to time, you must schedule a time for your presentation this week. If you do not do so the incomplete becomes a "No Pass".

4th Quarter Projects explained
Here is a copy of the assignment:

Don't say I didn't warn you (Words of wisdom from the class of 2009)

School has consumed much of your time over the past year and has affected you in many ways. Some of those experiences may have been positive while others may have been significant struggles. We all learn from both. Over the next week, you will be reflecting on your past years experiences. As the school year comes to an end, now is a good time for you to reflect on your first high school experience and your experiences in your life thus far.

Your assignment is to create a multi-genre scrapbook of your life and school experiences. Multi-genre means that you will use a variety of writing styles and artistic styles to present your experiences. Use this table to mix and match topics, genres, and writing forms. You may only use each topic, genre, and writing form once.

Topic ideas Genre ideas Writing form
Your first memory of a new class Tragedy Play/ Skit
A scary moment Comedy Poem
Friendships Soap Opera Monologue/ Soliloquy
Changing schools Horror Short story/ vignette
A proud moment Musical/song Newspaper article format
A challenge in your life Documentary Interview
A comic event After school special/melodrama
Taking on a leadership role Letter
An embarrassing incident Mystery Song
People who have influenced you Fantasy/ Science fiction

Remember, this is something others will read. You will also keep this and reflect back on as you get older. My main request is that you keep the tone positive. Degrading comments about yourself, other students, or past instructors are not appropriate. I also request that pictures be appropriate (no alcohol, guns or things of that sort).

You should have a total of at least:
5 written entries (mix and matching from the above list)
5 original artistic pieces (computer art does not count as original art but may be used in addition to the four original pieces)
1 personally designed cover
1 additional vignette on your feelings about becoming a sophomore and where you see yourself in the next ten years

Stomp rhythm runtime

If absent, complete the journal entry. Create a homemade rhythm instrument (shaker, wind chime, drum, etc). Show me next class for credit.
